Reporting to the Serco Network Operations Manager the successful candidate will engage with other Serco Operational department trainer(s) to develop a range of training packages, and ensure training modules are relevant, current, and consistent for our training needs.

You will foster and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. In addition to this, the successful candidate will assist the Network Operations Manager to ensure all employees have access to adequate training and career development plans. Monitoring operational performance, you will ensure all processes, procedures and methods are safe, efficient, and fit for purpose, escalating relevant issues as required.

What you'll need to do the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, customer focused, practised communications NOC Technical Trainer to play a crucial role within the Skynet team.  Accordingly, previous experience of working in a highly skilled technical team with an operational output is essential.  You must be able to successfully articulate and deliver high quality training to both new and experienced NOC Operations staff.  You will be able to work independently, and as part of a team to ensure the best and safest work practices prevail.  You will always be looking at ways to improve the Service we provide whilst being mindful of the constraints and requirements of our contract obligations.

As a minimum the successful candidate must have a Level 3 training qualification, or equivalent experience in a training environment.  Have a technical background, and a good understanding of the variety of complex equipment normally found within a Satellite Ground Station including, RF, Baseband (serial and IP), and Antenna systems.  Experience within a Network Operations environment would be beneficial, but not essential if you have a strong background in a similar UHF or SHF related, technological field.
