Serco Defence delivers a wide range of support to the prestigious Skynet contract providing secure satellite communication services to the UK Government and Armed Forces. We currently have an opportunity for a Technical Training Instructor (Maritime) to join our team based at HSM Collingwood. This role will be responsible for the delivery of specified training courses on behalf of and in conjunction with Airbus, utilising practical and theoretical learning blended delivery methodologies, development and maintenance of lesson plans and their supporting material, and producing formative and summative assessments and organisation of coaching/development activities.

Main responsibilities of the role include:

• Acting as the Skynet Training Instructor.
• Acting as a Course Owner as allocated by the Training Delivery Manager.
• Maintain course documentation (including course syllabus, instructional specifications, instructor notes, presentations and students notes) as allocated by the Training Delivery Manager.
• Conduct reviews and evaluation of courses.
• Attend train the trainer's courses for new equipment and develop training documentation.
• Ensuring that the technical practices and safety precautions conform to the appropriate regulations.

What you'll need to do the role:

• Qualified Military and/or Commercial Training Instructor.
• Experience in Telecommunications and/or Satellite Communications.
• IT literate and knowledge of MS Office Tools.
• Experience of Quality Assurance in relation to Training.
• Experience in development of training documentation.
• Experience in Training Design.
• Knowledge of data communications is desirable.
• Self-motivated and capable of managing own workloads.
• Must be able to achieve minimum SC Security Clearance.
