Here at Serco we're looking for a Transport Compliance Support Manager to join the team. They will support the associated contract management team and be the onsite CPC Holder for the contract, to help deliver a compliant fleet service, ensuring the contracts legislative obligations of the Operators licences. 

 

 

The role includes maintaining the contracts daily vehicle requirements for Refuse, Trade, HRC and Street cleansing departments, following the vehicle maintenance requirements ensuring all vehicles and plant are serviced and maintained to the specification outlined under the manufacturer's guidelines and the Operator licence profile.

 

 

You will also liaise with all third-party service providers to ensure all daily defects, breakdowns and punctures on our vehicles and plant are registered and dealt with, within the relevant timeframe. You will record specific data to ensure all contract obligations and requirements can be monitored and displayed to all relevant stakeholders when required. 

 

 

As Transport Compliance Support Manager you will also provide support and cover for the Regional Transport Manager at key times during the year.

 

 

 

As part of this you'll:

  • Where required provide data, statements and paperwork to the Contract Management team and the Regional Transport Manager to help manage vehicle maintenance budgets ensuring all vehicle Third Party maintenance, spares and associated expenditure is monitored and controlled within the set targets and that value for money is obtained.
  • Ensure the driver qualification central data base System covering, driver licences, driver tachograph cards, DCPC, vehicle categories individuals are authorised to drive and any other associated driver training is accurate and updated on a weekly basis. 
  • Work with each department on contract to ensure all vehicle accidents and incidents are accurately recorded and fully investigated in accordance with the Company Accident CSOP P3-5.
  • As and when required give support to the Regional Transport Manager to ensure the continual monitoring and review of Risk assessments and policies relative to the vehicle fleet.
  • Management of vehicle telematics and visual driver aids, eg: CCTV - Externally/Internally
  • Help to collate and build information data bases to help monitor and Track vehicle costs against agreed budgets both on planned and unplanned maintenance

 

 

 

What you'll need to do the role

  • Hold the National Certificate of Professional Competence in Large Goods Vehicles
  • Have a thorough understanding of UK and EU road transport legislation, including Goods MoT requirements and Construction and Use regulations.
  • Ideally hold a recognised Fleet Engineering Certificate or have the required experience in fleet maintenance management
  • Must have experience in the role of a Fleet Management
  • Ideally must have experience within the Waste and Recycling Industry
