Job Purpose:


The role of the SD Angeline Engineer is to support and assist the Master and crew of SD Angeline with all matters pertaining to engineering and electrical operation, maintenance and defect rectification providing maximum usage and time at operational readiness. The incumbent may also be expected to fulfil other positional requirements as directed by the Ops & Tech Team and the tasking requirement is within the limits and abilities of the individual and within scope of the specified qualification/Certificate of Competence for the position



Main duties:




  • Become familiar with details of vessel's construction, machinery and operating characteristics.
  • Be responsible for the overall control configuration of the vessel and all the systems and equipment.
  • Keep a careful account of all labour coming under his jurisdiction so that contractors' bills can be checked and to ensure suitable quality of workmanship.
  • Submit accurate figures to the Master each day, while the ship is at sea, showing the quantities of bunkers, lubricating oils and water consumed and remaining onboard.
  • Ensure that all planned maintenance and both normal and emergency repair work is
  • carried out and reported as required, with defect reports raised and closed where
  • applicable.
  • Ensure that all work is planned for minimum disruption to the vessel's overall programme and maximum reliability and availability of the plant.
  • Keep all engine room records as required by the Company.
  • Endeavour to maximise efficiency of machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure that any repair work being undertaken by repair staff under contract is being
  • carried out in a satisfactory manner and on the completion of modifications all vessel drawing and manuals are updated to reflect change made.


Skills and Experience:


  • 3rd / 2nd Eng CoC up to 3000Kw
  • In date ENG1
  • Any requisite STCW qualification to fulfil the primary role of the selected individual.
  • Basic Level Management / Leadership training or demonstrable equivalence.
  • Proven history of operating has a singleton. This can be via CV and will be covered during interview.
  • Knowledge of SMS and the ISM Code.
  • IT awareness
  • Health and Safety awareness
  • Marine Industry Background.
  • Understanding of a planned maintenance System (such as AMOS).
