Workflow Co-ordinator

National Highways have an exciting opportunity for a Workflow Co-ordinator (internally known as a Business Services Change and Workflow Manager) to manage and deliver a range of activities, providing support to the Contract and Performance team by enabling the achievement and assurance of contract delivery, providing guidance and supporting the work of the Contract and Performance team. You will also oversee and manage the development and delivery of all governance activities and administrative business support. 

This role will be based from one of our Maidstone, Basingstoke or Guildford Offices.

What you’ll be leading on

  • Manage the effective implementation and embedment of consistent working practices and procedures, as business service change manager ensuring the deployment of resources according to priorities and adapting work methods in response to organizational changes. You will drive the successful adoption of changes within the team ensuring that they are fully integrated into business operations and sustained over time.
  • As a Business Services Change Manager, you will continually evaluate the effectiveness of updated work methods, proposing changes to drive continuous improvements in efficiency, quality, and performance, while providing high-quality, accurate, and timely information that meet the needs of the team and the wider M25 team.
  • Lead and direct the delivery of continuous projects, for example as a focal point for M25 Lands Queries as well as all contractual Governance on behalf of the Contract and Performance team. An understanding of contractual principles is essential in you ensuring contractual alignment with these project briefs and in actively seeking feedback, presenting well-founded recommendations to and for the team, and promptly escalating concerns to senior management as needed.
  • Strategically manage, monitor, and coordinate information flow within the Contract and Performance Team, ensuring timely and appropriate responses to all requests in accordance with established deadlines, while driving continuous improvement in team performance.
  • Act as a line manager to administrative staff and Manage administrative support to the Contract and Performance team by evaluating business requirements, identifying issues, negotiating and managing deadlines and tracking the delivery of solutions.

To be successful you’ll need

  • Experience in project governance, risk management, and assurance. With a thorough understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques, and their application.
  • Good understanding of staff performance and line manager responsibilities. 
  • Experience of working collaboratively with stakeholders of all levels of influence and interest
  • Experience in using stakeholder input to improve results, with the ability to quickly understand the business and apply expert knowledge effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills
