The Role
As a Hairpin Manufacturing Operative, you will manufacture and inspect precision copper hairpin components to customer specifications and aerospace quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture copper hairpin components using workshop tools and machinery to achieve specified tolerances.
- Use pillar drills and associated equipment to remove copper enamel in accordance with customer drawings and specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.
- Carry out quality inspections using verniers, Go/No-Go gauges and other measuring equipment.
- Bag, label and prepare completed components for dispatch.
- Complete all manufacturing activities in accordance with customer requirements and quality standards.
- Highlight any production, process or quality issues to the Line Manager and/or Quality Manager.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and complete daily 5S activities.
- Ensure all work is performed safely, accurately and efficiently.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Experience within a manufacturing, production, assembly or engineering environment.
- Ability to read and follow technical drawings and work instructions.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Experience using measuring equipment such as verniers and gauges.
- Good manual dexterity and practical workshop skills.
- Reliable, proactive and hardworking attitude.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Desirable
- Experience working with copper components or metal fabrication.
- Aerospace, automotive, defence or precision engineering experience.
- Previous machine operating experience.
- Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience working to tight tolerances and quality standards.
