As a Winding Technician, you will be responsible for the repair, overhaul and testing of aircraft electrical components used within aviation power generation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Wind stators, rotors, field coils and armatures using specialist winding techniques.
- Work with enamel-coated copper wire and specialist hand tools.
- Carry out cleaning and preparation processes using ultrasonic cleaning equipment.
- Complete brazing, resistance welding and flame welding connections.
- Perform electrical testing using resistance and high-voltage testing equipment.
- Conduct dimensional inspections using micrometers, verniers, height gauges and other precision measuring instruments.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Complete all work in line with quality, safety and aerospace regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Experience within a manufacturing, production, assembly or engineering environment.
- Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow technical drawings, specifications and work instructions.
- Experience using measuring and inspection equipment.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable
- Previous experience as a Winder, Coil Winder or Motor Rewinder.
- Electrical or electro-mechanical assembly experience.
- Aerospace, aviation, defence or regulated manufacturing experience.
- Experience of soldering, brazing or welding techniques.
- Electrical testing experience.
