Join an Innovative Architectural & Engineering Design Team

Our client, a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based near Eastleigh, is seeking an experienced 2D CAD Draughtsperson to join their growing Architectural Design Department.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across the UK and Europe, creating detailed manufacturing drawings for bespoke steel fabrication, sheet metal products, and specialist engineered solutions.

Working alongside experienced engineers and designers, you will be involved in the full design process, from concept development through to manufacturing documentation. Full training will be provided on company systems, products, procedures, and document management processes.

The Role

As a 2D CAD Draughtsperson, you will play a key role in transforming design concepts into accurate manufacturing drawings and technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate 2D CAD drawings using Autodesk AutoCAD.
  • Create detailed manufacturing drawings for sheet metal and steel fabrication projects.
  • Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Parts Lists.
  • Amend and update existing engineering drawings and project documentation.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst meeting delivery deadlines.
  • Ensure drawings comply with engineering, manufacturing, customer, and quality requirements.
  • Liaise with internal departments including Design, Production, and Project Management teams.
  • Maintain drawing revisions, document control, and project records.
  • Support projects from initial concept through to manufacture and installation.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experienced CAD Draughtsperson with strong 2D AutoCAD skills.
  • Background in sheet metal, steel fabrication, or special purpose machinery.
  • Ability to interpret engineering and manufacturing specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within a project team.
  • Experience producing manufacturing and fabrication drawings.

Desirable

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to architectural metalwork or bespoke fabrication projects.
  • Experience creating Bills of Materials and maintaining technical documentation.

Working Hours

Monday - Thursday: 08:30 - 17:15

Friday: 08:30 - 13:00
