Title: Apprentice Administrator & Receptionist

Location: Technology Hub, Waterlooville, PO7 7XY

Working Week: 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Apprenticeship Qualification: Level 2 or Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship - depending on experience and qualifications

Expected Apprenticeship Duration: 15 months

 

Serco have a fantastic opportunity for an individual to join the ever-growing team in Waterlooville as an Administrator and Receptionist Apprentice.

 

Alongside completing your Business Administration qualification, you will provide support (administrative) activities that facilitate the smooth running of the projects and business within both the Technology Hub and Air Defence Radar Teams. In the role, you will provide a high-quality service to customers (both internal & external) through administrative tasks as well as full reception cover.

 

We are looking for an individual who can ensure a high standard of service is delivered by continually seeking to improve services and by making a positive contribution to the professionalism of the team.

 

Key Accountabilities:

You will develop the skills you need for the job by working alongside your colleagues and obtain experience in many different aspects of the role, delivering against your Apprenticeship Plan to ensure all required modules are successfully completed on time and to the required level.

You will also be helped to build relationships with peers, allowing you to achieve your professional development objectives.

Reception

  • Welcome visitors and provide site induction - issue passes/access cards
  • Organise Meeting Rooms including provision of refreshments
  • Monitor of following supplies restocking when required: Stationery, Tea, coffee, sugar, milk, Cleaning materials and ink cartridges
  • Assist with process of new starters.

 

General

  • Timesheet Entry for all staff
  • Processing and administration of purchase orders and related invoices
  • Purchasing utilizing corporate credit card
  • Administration of vendors
  • Process incoming and outgoing post

 

What you'll need to do the role:

 

Essential:

  • Must be able to complete a Serco-funded NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Business Administration.
  • Maths and English at grade 4/C or above
  • Able to work independently, prioritising as required
  • Basic knowledge of IT applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Being able to complete tasks on time achieving deadline and key milestones if required.
  • Must be able to communicate confidently.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience in SAP

 

Please note to be eligible for a funded apprenticeship in England, you need to meet certain residency criteria:

 

Residency Status: You must have a valid and eligible residency status. This typically means you should be a citizen of the UK, an EU/EEA national, or have the right to live and work in the UK

 

Right to Work: You must have the right to work in England

 

Duration of Residency: Generally, you should have been ordinarily resident in the UK or the EU/EEA for at least three years prior to the start of the apprenticeship

 

Additional Information:

  • Role will be office based, and you must have the ability to occasionally be flexible with regards to working hours.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a UK Security Clearance
