Location: Sunderland

Salary: £24,000 - £27,000 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Working Hours: Between 7:00am and 4:30pm

Holiday Entitlement: 31 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays

We are seeking a reliable, proactive and hands-on Assistant Site Manager to support the day-to-day management, maintenance and security of our school site. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Site Manager in maintaining the school buildings and grounds.
Undertake routine maintenance and minor repairs.
Ensure the site is safe, secure and compliant with health and safety requirements.
Carry out opening and closing procedures as required.
Monitor contractors and assist with site projects.
Set up rooms and facilities for school events and activities.
Conduct regular site inspections and report any issues.
Support emergency maintenance and site-related incidents.

What We're Looking For

Previous caretaking, maintenance, facilities or site management experience.
Practical DIY and maintenance skills.
Good knowledge of health and safety practices.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
A flexible and positive approach to work.
