Business Support & Reporting Officer
Job Summary
The Business Support & Reporting Analyst is responsible for delivering high‑quality business analysis, performance reporting, and strategic insights that support effective decision‑making across the organisation. The role tracks progress against the annual business plan, prepares board‑level reports, analyses performance data, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives. In addition, the postholder provides targeted business support to Senior Management, coordinating information across departments to ensure accurate, timely, and reliable reporting.
What You'll Be Doing
Reporting & Executive Support
- Produce high‑quality board reports, summary papers, dashboards, and performance insight packs.
- Prepare clear written documentation, presentations, and audit‑ready records for senior leadership.
- Attend senior management meetings, take accurate minutes, and maintain action trackers.
- Provide administrative and organisational support to Senior Managers, coordinating cross‑department performance information.
- Ensure reporting outputs meet governance, audit, and assurance requirements.
Business Analysis & Performance Insight
- Collect, analyse, and interpret business performance data across departments.
- Track progress against the annual business plan, KPIs, milestones, and risks.
- Identify performance issues, variances, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
- Support strategic decision‑making with data‑driven insight and analysis.
- Maintain the organisation's performance framework and reporting structures.
- Utilise business systems effectively to extract, analyse, and report on data.
Reporting Platforms & Data Systems (Desirable)
- Design, develop, and maintain reporting dashboards and BI solutions (e.g., Power BI).
- Write and maintain SQL queries to extract and validate data from multiple systems.
- Create automated, scalable reporting solutions to improve consistency and efficiency.
- Lead the development and enhancement of reporting systems and integration of new data sources.
What You Will Bring
- Experience providing high‑level executive support, including minute‑taking and managing action logs.
- Proven ability to produce clear, insightful board‑level documentation.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear insights.
- Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
- Knowledge of process mapping and continuous improvement techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable (training can be provided):
- Experience designing dashboards using BI tools such as Power BI.
- Working knowledge of SQL for reporting and analysis.
