HGV Class 2 Driver

We are recruiting HGV Class 2 Drivers for a permanent customer-facing delivery role based in Burton upon Trent. This role involves delivering ladders and access equipment to customers throughout the UK, offering regular work, competitive pay and long-term stability. Ideal candidates will have a strong commitment to health and safety, excellent communication skills and experience providing outstanding customer service while representing a business professionally.

Role Overview

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of ladders and access equipment to commercial and residential customers nationwide. This is a physically active role requiring a professional approach, attention to detail and a strong focus on health and safety.

Due to insurance requirements, applicants must have held their HGV Class 2 licence and accumulated a minimum of two years' HGV driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver ladders and access equipment safely throughout the UK
• Complete daily vehicle safety inspections
• Ensure loads are secured correctly and transported safely
• Load and unload products in accordance with manual handling procedures
• Complete delivery documentation accurately
• Maintain excellent customer service standards at all times
• Adhere to Drivers' Hours and Working Time regulations
• Represent the company professionally at customer sites
• Report vehicle defects, incidents and safety concerns promptly

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence
• Minimum of 2 years' HGV driving experience (insurance requirement)
• Driver CPC Qualification Card
• Digital Tachograph Card
• Strong understanding of vehicle and road safety legislation
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Professional and reliable attitude
• Strong commitment to health and safety
• Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules effectively
