Unit Operator - Temporary to Permanent Role

Location: Burton-on-Trent

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (rotating shifts)

Pay: £14.03

What You'll Be Doing

  • Inspect, label, and pack finished products to the highest quality standards
  • Monitor stock levels and investigate any discrepancies
  • Work within a controlled, sterile environment, adhering to strict hygiene and PPE requirements
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Maintain accurate records and follow detailed operating procedures

Shift Pattern

Week 1:

  • Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:00pm

Week 2:

  • Monday to Thursday, 1:00pm to 9:00pm
  • Friday, 11:00am to 7:00pm

What We're Looking For

  • A positive attitude with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to rotating shifts
  • Previous manufacturing experience is advantageous but not essential
  • A strong commitment to quality, safety, and compliance

Important Requirements for Working in the Sterile Environment

As this role is based within a sterile compounding unit, strict hygiene and contamination control standards must be followed at all times:

  • Piercings: All piercings must be completely removed. Where removal is not possible, they must be fully covered.
  • Jewellery: Only one plain wedding band is permitted. All other jewellery must not be worn.
  • Make-up & Cosmetics: Make-up and cosmetics, including false eyelashes and eyelash extensions, are not permitted within the sterile environment.
  • Nail Care: False nails, gel nails, acrylic nails, and nail polish are strictly prohibited. Natural nails must be kept clean, trimmed, and well maintained.
  • Fragrances: Perfume, aftershave, and body sprays must not be worn within the compounding unit. Scented deodorant is permitted.
  • Hair: Long hair must be tied back securely for hygiene and safety purposes.
