Consulting Director - Resilience & Emergency Planning
Location: UK-based (with flexibility)

At Serco, we deliver essential public services across the UK and globally, making a real difference in people's lives. Whether it's supporting governments, maintaining critical infrastructure, or delivering frontline services, we help shape a better future. At +impact, Serco's challenger advisory brand, we're blending real-world operational know-how with strategic insight to deliver practical, people-centred solutions for the public sector and regulated environments. As Consulting Director, you'll lead our resilience and emergency planning offer — shaping strategy, driving growth, and delivering high-impact advisory services to clients across government, local authorities, emergency services, and critical national infrastructure. It's a unique opportunity to influence how resilience is thought about and delivered across the UK and beyond.

What you'll be doing

-    Designing and delivering advisory projects across crisis management, business continuity, and resilience strategy.
-    Developing client-focused proposals and building long-term commercial frameworks.
-    Building trusted relationships across government, emergency services, and regulated sectors.
-    Collaborating with operational teams and partners, including the Emergency Planning College and IFTC.
-    Acting as a thought leader, shaping methodologies and go-to-market approaches.
-    Representing +impact in external forums and raising brand awareness.
-    Coaching and supporting junior consultants to build internal capability.

What you'll need to do the job

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

-    A proven ability to win and deliver advisory work with clients.
-    Commercial acumen and experience building propositions that deliver long-term value.
-    Strong communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
-    Understanding of public sector, emergency services, or regulated environments.
-    A collaborative, hands-on mindset suited to start-up or scale-up consulting settings.
-    Experience in or with fire and rescue, emergency services, CNI or local government — desirable.

What we offer in return

-    A unique opportunity to shape and grow a key consulting capability
-    The backing of Serco's scale and operational insight
-    Autonomy to lead, create, and deliver meaningful change
-    Flexible working with a UK-wide client base
-    Access to a passionate and experienced team with a shared mission
-    A collaborative, values-driven culture focused on real-world impact
