Blue Arrow is proud to be working in partnership with a leading organisation within the metals recycling sector, who are now looking to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a full-time permanent basis at their site based in Matlock.

π· Β£43,036.20 Basic Salary per annum
π Β£9,094 Shift Allowance per annum
π― Annual Production Bonus - up to 10% of salary (following qualifying period)
π Quarterly Production Bonus - up to Β£300

π° Annual Blood Lead Bonus - up to Β£1,500

π§ What will you bring to the role?
Reporting to the Shift Maintenance Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of a wide range of plant and equipment within a busy heavy manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
β‘ Carry out preventative and reactive electrical maintenance across a wide range of plant and equipment.
β‘ Complete electrical installations, breakdown repairs and fault-finding activities to minimise downtime and maximise plant reliability.
β‘ Take responsibility for electrical maintenance activities during night shifts and weekends when a Maintenance Coordinator is not onsite.
β‘ Complete Task Specific Risk Assessments and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all maintenance activities.
β‘ Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures, permits to work and relevant legislation.
β‘ Safely isolate electrical equipment and verify isolations before commencing work.
β‘ Diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently and accurately.
β‘ Report any issues that may impact the safe, efficient or reliable operation of plant and equipment.
β‘ Maintain exceptional housekeeping standards and ensure work areas are left clean, safe and organised.
β‘ Use PPE, testing equipment, tools and always lifting equipment correctly and safely.
β‘ Accurately record maintenance activities using computer-based maintenance systems.
β‘ Correctly book parts from stores and apply appropriate cost codes.
β‘ Promote and support a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality and Energy policies.
β What will you bring to the role?
β Fully completed Electrical Apprenticeship
β Several years' post-apprenticeship experience, ideally within a heavy industrial, manufacturing or process environment
β BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition) qualification desirable
β Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
β Excellent understanding of electrical safety, isolation procedures and permit-to-work systems
β Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the business
β Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
β Proactive approach to maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement
β Good IT skills and the ability to maintain detailed electronic maintenance records
β Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative maintenance team
β Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance
