Location: Tutbury, Staffordshire

Pay Rate: £14.00 - £18.00 per hour (Dependent on Experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm

Contract: Temporary to Permanent Opportunity

The Opportunity

Blue Arrow is recruiting on behalf of a well-established metal fabrication and engineering company based in Tutbury. Our client specialises in providing high-quality metal fabrication services and is looking to recruit an experienced Fabrication Welder to join their growing workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder who enjoys working with a variety of metal components and manufacturing bespoke products to a high standard. The successful candidate will join a busy and professional workshop with genuine long-term career prospects.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricating and welding a variety of metal components and assemblies.
• Working from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Carrying out MIG welding to a consistently high standard.
• Measuring, cutting, grinding, and preparing materials for fabrication.
• Assembling finished products using hand and power tools.
• Inspecting completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintaining welding equipment and keeping work areas safe and organised.
• Following all company health and safety procedures.
• Supporting the wider fabrication and production team as required.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience as a Fabrication Welder, Welder Fabricator, or similar engineering role.
• Strong MIG welding experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience working with metal components within a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
• Competent using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery.
• Relevant welding qualifications or certifications are required.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.

• TIG welding experience.
• City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent welding/fabrication qualifications.
• Experience within bespoke fabrication, structural steel, or general engineering environments.

• Due to the location of the site in Tutbury, candidates must have their own transport as public transport links may not be suitable for all commuting requirements.
• Candidates will be required to provide evidence of relevant welding qualifications or certifications during the recruitment process.
