Job Overview:
A well-established food production company in Reading is seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Production Operative to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with a background in food manufacturing and hands-on experience with commercial cooking equipment. Candidates with an engineering or mechanical background will be highly valued due to the technical nature of the equipment used.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare raw ingredients according to company specifications (measuring, cutting, processing)
• Operate and monitor commercial cooking and food production machinery
• Ensure consistent quality, taste, and appearance of food products
• Accurately and hygienically package finished goods
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas in line with food safety standards
• Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and resolve issues

Requirements:

• Previous experience in food production or manufacturing
• Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment (e.g., ovens, kettles, mixers)
• Engineering or mechanical experience is a strong advantage
• Understanding of food hygiene and safety practices
• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to work across different production areas as needed
