We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Operative to join a busy warehouse and yard operation. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with manufacturing, production, warehouse, or industrial experience who are looking for ongoing work with the potential to secure a permanent position.

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 7:00am - 4:00pm
• Friday: 7:00am - 3:00pm

The Working Environment

You'll be working within a busy warehouse and yard facility supporting the storage, maintenance, and distribution of scaffolding equipment. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy physical work, working outdoors at times, and being part of a team-focused operation.

The Role

As a General Operative, your responsibilities will include:

• Loading and unloading scaffolding materials from delivery vehicles
• Organising and storing scaffold tubes, boards, fittings, and accessories
• Inspecting returned equipment for damage and defects
• Cleaning, repairing, and preparing equipment for future use
• Using hand tools and power tools to complete maintenance tasks
• Assisting with stock control and inventory checks
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised yard and warehouse environment
• Following all health and safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Supporting colleagues with additional operational duties when required

About You

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience within a manufacturing, production, warehouse, construction, yard, or industrial environment
• Confident using hand tools and power tools safely
• Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual handling tasks
• Reliable, hard-working, and eager to learn
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work as part of a team
• Own transport due to the location of the site

Desirable Skills

• Previous experience in a production or manufacturing setting
• Understanding of workplace health and safety procedures
• Experience in warehouse, engineering, or industrial operations
• Ability to carry out basic repairs and maintenance activities
