Location: Sudbury, Derbyshire (DE6 5GX)

Pay Rate: £13.25 per hour

Contract: Temporary Ongoing with Permanent Opportunities

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 7:00am - 4:00pm

Friday: 7:00am - 3:00pm

The Opportunity

Blue Arrow is recruiting on behalf of a well-established scaffolding supplier in Sudbury for a hardworking General Operative. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy warehouse and yard operation, with long-term work available and the possibility of securing a permanent position for the right candidate.

We are looking for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and can thrive in a fast-paced environment where teamwork, safety, and efficiency are key.

Key Responsibilities

Loading and unloading scaffolding equipment from delivery vehicles.
Organising and storing scaffold tubes, boards, fittings, and related materials.
Checking returned equipment for damage, wear, or defects.
Cleaning, repairing, and preparing equipment for future use.
Using hand and power tools to carry out basic maintenance tasks.
Picking, packing, and preparing customer orders for dispatch.
Assisting with stock checks and inventory management.
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised warehouse and yard area.
Following all health and safety procedures and wearing PPE as required.
Supporting colleagues and assisting with additional warehouse duties when needed.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

Experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, construction, yard, or similar industrial environment.
Confident using hand tools and power tools safely.
Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual handling duties.
Reliable, motivated, and willing to learn.
Good attention to detail and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Own transport due to the location of the site.

Desirable

Experience working with hand tools and powered tools.
Understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
Previous experience within an industrial, warehouse, or engineering environment.
