Blue Arrow is recruiting for a General Operative to join a well-established scaffolding supplier based in Sudbury. This is a physically active role that would suit someone who enjoys practical work, working as part of a team, and getting involved in a variety of warehouse and yard-based tasks.

Whether you've previously worked in manufacturing, production, construction, engineering, warehousing, or a similar industrial environment, this could be a great opportunity to join a growing business with the potential to secure a permanent position.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 7:00am - 4:00pm

Friday: 7:00am - 3:00pm

The Role

Working within a busy warehouse and yard environment, you'll support the movement, maintenance and preparation of scaffolding equipment ready for distribution and customer use.

Daily duties may include:

• Loading and unloading scaffold materials and equipment
• Sorting, storing and preparing scaffold tubes, boards and fittings
• Inspecting returned equipment and identifying damaged items
• Cleaning and carrying out basic repairs to scaffolding components
• Using both manual and powered hand tools to complete maintenance and refurbishment work
• Operating workshop and yard machinery safely and effectively
• Assisting with stock checks and inventory control
• Moving materials around the site and keeping storage areas organised
• Maintaining a clean, safe and tidy working environment
• Following all health and safety procedures and site requirements
• Supporting other operational activities as required

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience within a warehouse, manufacturing, production, construction, engineering, yard, or industrial environment
• Experience using manual hand tools and powered tools is essential
• Previous experience operating machinery within a workshop, warehouse, manufacturing or industrial setting
• Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual handling duties throughout the shift
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety
• Reliable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Own transport is required due to the location of the site
