Our client is one of the UK's leading providers of workplace products, business supplies and support services. Working with major corporate organisations across the UK, they deliver tailored solutions spanning workplace consumables, facilities supplies, PPE, furniture, technology, managed services and business solutions.

They are now seeking an experienced Head of Corporate Accounts to lead a portfolio of high-value strategic customers and drive revenue growth, customer retention and commercial performance across a national account management team.

This is a key leadership role with significant visibility across the business and offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced people leader with a strong background in strategic account management.


The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead a team of approximately 11 Account Managers responsible for a portfolio of around 38 strategic corporate customers.

You will be responsible for delivering sales growth, profitability and retention objectives whilst ensuring customers receive outstanding service and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop a national Strategic Accounts team.
  • Drive achievement of sales, profitability and customer retention targets.
  • Manage and develop approximately 38 key strategic customer relationships.
  • Coach Account Managers on account development, negotiation and growth strategies.
  • Ensure robust account plans are in place across all key customers.
  • Drive cross-selling and category penetration across the full product portfolio.
  • Monitor team performance through KPI management, forecasting and reporting.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and development planning.
  • Support major tenders, customer presentations and contract negotiations.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Procurement, Operations and Category Management teams.
  • Monitor customer profitability, spend trends and commercial performance.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational efficiencies.
  • Maintain exceptional levels of customer satisfaction and retention.

About You

We are looking for a commercially focused sales leader who combines strategic thinking with strong people management skills.

Essential Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience leading Account Management or Strategic Sales teams.
  • Proven experience managing large corporate or strategic accounts.
  • Strong track record of delivering sales, margin and retention targets.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring and developing high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Experience working with complex customer contracts and negotiations.
  • Ability to interpret sales data and translate it into growth strategies.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
