Health and Safety Officer

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Officer with a strong background in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environments to support a busy manufacturing operation in Reading. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who understands the unique health, safety, compliance and operational challenges of a manufacturing setting and enjoys driving continuous improvement across the site.

About You

• Proven experience in a Health & Safety role within a manufacturing, engineering, production, industrial or FMCG environment.
• Sound knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.
• Experience maintaining Health & Safety management systems.
• Experience conducting risk assessments and implementing safe systems of work in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage production and operational teams.
• Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.

• NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
• Experience conducting internal audits.
• Exposure to environmental or sustainability initiatives.
• Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
