HGV Driver/Loader
Location: CO10 Area, Sudbury, Suffolk
Pay Rate: £15.52 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:30 - 15:00
Contract: Ongoing Temporary Assignment, likely to transfer permanent
We are currently recruiting for a HGV Driver/Loader to join a busy Refuse and Recycling team based in the CO10 postcode area. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified HGV Class 2 Driver who is willing to take a hands-on approach, supporting refuse collection duties while delivering an efficient and reliable service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daily refuse and recycling collections
- Operate vehicles and associated machinery safely and effectively
- Undertake loading duties and support the refuse collection team as required
- Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed
- Complete all relevant paperwork and records in real time
- Carry out daily vehicle and machinery inspections before and after use
- Report any defects, faults or maintenance requirements
- Maintain the cleanliness of vehicles and equipment
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain positive relationships with members of the public and other road users
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures, including safe lifting and handling techniques
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 Driving Licence with no more than 6 penalty points
- Valid Driver CPC
- Willingness to assist with loading duties throughout collection rounds
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with a positive and flexible attitude
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Clean driving licence desirable
