Working Pattern: 08:00 - 16:00 (Monday to Friday)
Location: Office-based in Nottingham with hybrid flexibility (Mandatory office days Monday and Wednesday)

Job Overview
We are recruiting a Housing Officer for a temporary assignment within a busy housing service. The role involves delivering high-quality housing advice, tenancy support and administrative services. This is an office-based, customer-focused position, supporting tenants, leaseholders and housing applicants in accessing and sustaining safe and affordable homes.
Important:
This is not a Housing Patch Manager role. It involves no site-based work, inspections or community patch management. The position is centered on administration and customer contact.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tenancy and estate management support in line with legislation and internal policies.
- Provide advice on allocations, lettings, tenancy changes and mutual exchanges.
- Process tenancy amendments, including tenancy endings, succession, key movements and the early stages of the void process.
- Assist customers with rent queries, benefits information and signposting to financial inclusion support.
- Carry out administrative tasks relating to garages, including applications, waiting lists and allocations.
- Respond professionally to general enquiries, complaints and correspondence.
- Work with internal teams and partner agencies to resolve housing-related issues.
- Manage keys for void properties and arrange property security where required.
- Maintain accurate records, produce reports and process invoices and payments.
- Promote digital services, online self‑service tools and tenant participation.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience or strong interest in housing services and customer support.
- Understanding of social housing, tenancy management and relevant legislation.
- Strong administrative skills and the ability to manage high workloads accurately.
- Experience processing tenancy changes and early void-stage tasks.
- Experience using the NEC Housing Management System (or similar).
- Excellent communication skills and confident handling of customer enquiries.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Proactive, organised and customer-focused approach.
