HSEQ Manager 
Home based with regular travel to customer sites.   
Full Time, Fixed Term Contract - 12 months 

Salary - £40,000-£45,00 dependant on experience

Here at Serco, we're seeking a Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Manager to join our Transport and Community Services Business Unit. This role is pivotal in supporting the safe, effective, and compliant delivery of diverse frontline services such as waste management, grounds maintenance, parking enforcement, contact centres, and leisure facilities. 

 

You'll play a key leadership role, acting as the go-to expert on all HSEQ matters across allocated contracts. Your guidance will help drive continuous improvement, support ISO compliance, and ensure health, safety, environmental and quality standards are not only met, but exceeded. 

 

As part of this you will: 

  • Lead HSEQ strategy implementation and continuous improvement across multiple contracts 

  • Support operational teams to ensure compliance with legal, contractual and company HSEQ requirements. 

  • Conduct inspections, audits, and assurance reviews to identify risks and promote best practice. 

  • Provide subject-matter expertise in specialist areas including street cleansing, cycle hire, leisure and waste services. 

  • Report on HSEQ performance, identifying trends, and helping contracts close out actions efficiently. 

  • Champion a positive health, safety and environmental culture across the business. 

 

What you'll need to do the role: 

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) - essential 

  • Full UK driving licence - essential 

  • Experience working within facilities management, environmental or leisure services 

  • Proven background in managing HSEQ compliance in operational settings 

  • Strong knowledge of ISO standards and management systems 

  • Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels 

  • Excellent communication and people management skills 

 

Desirable Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Environmental Management qualification 

  • Fire Safety or Construction H&S qualifications 

  • Training qualification (e.g., HABC Level 3) 

  • Membership of IOSH or similar body 

  • Experience leading audits or managing small teams
