Job Title:Linehaul Courier Driver (Van)

Role Overview:

The Linehaul Van Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of goods between distribution centres, warehouses, and customer locations. This role requires a focus on safety, adherence to regulations, and exceptional time management skills to meet delivery schedules.
Pay Rate:

Day rate (0800 - 1900) £14.25
Night rate (1900-0800) £16.96
Overtime rate (over 45 hours) £21.38

Key Responsibilities:
* Operate a van or light commercial vehicle to transport goods along designated linehaul routes.
* Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage.
* Maintain accurate delivery logs and records using company systems and tools.
* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and report any delays, incidents, or mechanical issues promptly.
* Provide excellent customer service when interacting with all customers (Internal/External)
* Assist with route planning to optimize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
* Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably in a linehaul or logistics setting.
* Familiarity with GPS and routing technology.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Ability to lift and handle packages safely - Manual handling Skills
* Knowledge of transportation safety standards and regulations.
* Effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment:
* Driving for extended periods across various road and weather conditions.
* Regular interaction with warehouse staff
* Split Shifts / Night work - 17:30-21:40 and 05:20-09:40 Overnight stop outs.

* On-time delivery rate.
* Compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
* Customer satisfaction ratings.
* Vehicle condition and maintenance adherence.
