Overview

Suited to someone who can lead the team at a senior level, have responsibility for the P&L, provide guidance and provide support where necessary. The successful candidate will be able to handle client escalations from a demanding client and lead the continuous improvement agenda.

Purpose of the Role

Provide immediate leadership cover due to sickness and senior capacity gaps. Stabilise operations across a complex PFI hard FM healthcare environment. Lead service quality improvements and support ongoing change/transformation programmes.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support on‑site teams across technical services, projects, and helpdesk.

Manage three‑way stakeholder relationships. Oversee contract performance, compliance, customer experience, and service delivery. Drive structured, planned operational improvement and change initiatives. Ensure resilience of day‑to‑day operations in a challenging, high‑demand environment.

Complexity:

The Account Director will be responsible for the Strategic delivery of the contract. The role consists of, but is not limited to the following activities:

  • Management of P&L with revenue of circa £15m pa ensuring the commercial performance is in line with set budgets.
  • Proactive Management of cash including internal mechanisms for aged WIP, Debt & GRIR / POEM.
  • Leadership of contract team of 55 employees through implementation of the target operating model including the provision of resources, clearly defined objectives, roles profiles, development of contract processes and procedures.
  • Employee development of the contract team including recruitment of resources and employee succession planning in accordance with policies & procedures including those relating to equal opportunities.

Essential Experience / Skills

· Strong leadership and people management background (more important than technical background).

· Experience managing complex service environments (hard FM, estates, facilities, PFI, or similar).

· Proven ability to work with demanding customers and navigate multi‑stakeholder settings.

· Background in delivering operational change, stabilisation, or turnaround work.

· PFI experience desirable but not essential.
