We're looking for a Pension and Payroll Administrator to support the accurate and timely administration of a wide range of pension schemes and payroll processes. This role is critical in ensuring our employees are paid correctly and their pensions are managed in line with legislation and scheme rules.

 

You'll work within our Shared Services team to deliver expert support for both public and private sector pension schemes, including Local Government, NHS, PCS, Defined Benefit (DB) and Defined Contribution (DC) schemes. You'll also play a key role in processing payroll data, checking deductions, and resolving employee queries.

 

As part of this you will:

 

  • Administer DB and DC pension schemes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and scheme requirements.
  • Act as a key liaison between Serco, pension providers, and employees for all pension-related queries and transactions.
  • Input and maintain accurate payroll and pension data using payroll systems (e.g., ResourceLink and SAP HR).
  • Process payroll in line with UK legislation including PAYE, National Insurance, and auto-enrolment.
  • Resolve complex payroll and pension queries, including liaison with HMRC and external bodies.
  • Ensure payroll and pension data is handled confidentially and in line with GDPR and company policies.

 

What you'll need to do the role:

 

  • Experience working with UK pension schemes (DB and/or DC).
  • Proven background in payroll administration across multiple pay frequencies.
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.
  • Experience using payroll systems, especially ResourceLink and SAP HR.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform reconciliations and audits.
  • Confident handling complex queries and supporting escalated issues.
  • High attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach.
