PPT Driver

Blue Arrow are recruiting for PPT Drivers for a large distribution site based in Skelmersdale.

🔹 Job Purpose

To safely and efficiently operate powered pallet trucks (PPT) to move, load, and unload goods within the warehouse, ensuring accurate handling and timely distribution of stock.

🛠 Key Responsibilities

* Operate powered pallet trucks to transport goods across the warehouse.

* Load and unload vehicles, ensuring items are handled with care.

* Pick, pack, and prepare orders according to company standards.

* Maintain accurate records of stock movements and report discrepancies.

* Follow health & safety procedures at all times, including safe truck operation.

* Assist with general warehouse duties when required (cleaning, organizing stock).

* Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and report faults immediately.

🎯 Skills & Competencies

* Valid PPT license dated within the last 3 years

* Good understanding of warehouse operations and stock handling.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

* Strong teamwork and communication skills.

* Basic numeracy and literacy for handling documentation.

* Physical fitness to handle manual tasks and long shifts.

📌 Experience & Qualifications

* Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.

* Experience operating PPT equipment essential

* Knowledge of health & safety regulations in warehousing.

⚙️ Working Conditions

* Monday - Friday Rotating 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm

* Standing and operating equipment for extended periods.

* May involve lifting and manual handling.

* Warehouse environment (temperature variations, noise, busy operations).

💰 Typical Salary Range

* £13.21 per hour

* Overtime paid at time and a half

Ongoing work - potentially leading to permanent for the right candidates.
