HMP Fosse Way is a Category C rehabilitation prison in Leicestershire. HMP Fosse Way will house 1,715 prisoners and focus on the rehabilitation of offenders and their reintegration back into society.

You will be required to maintain a high standard of professional service throughout your dealing with all staff, visitors and the general public. Your role will focus on customer relations and therefore you will be required to maintain a high standard of dress and carry out your duty in a courteous and polite manner.
You will be required to work in a number of areas within the establishment which will require you to work within a team and at times on your own.
The role of Operational Support Officer is a varied role, ranging from supporting the operations which includes escorting contractors, visitors and vehicles and carrying out general clerical duties.
The role consists of working permanent nights on a week on / week off basis the role will primarily include working on the Residential Wings during Night State to support the PCO staff and the Duty Manager.
You will be required to undertake routine patrols of Residential units in accordance to both national and local policy. You will need to work as part of a team and so the ability to communicate effectively and confidently, maintaining precise, clear and concise instructions to ensure the safe control of the establishment are essential elements to the role.

Our current Prison Operational Support staff come to us with different work & life experiences, from retail to healthcare, to call centres and taxi drivers; others are ex-military, police, and security services personnel!
What you've done before doesn't matter, what matters is that you're committed to making a difference to the lives of others. You should have great communications skills and a good educational level in English and Maths as report writing, and numerical abilities are a key part of the role.
