Production Operative

💰 £12.71 per hour

⏰ Monday 7am-330pm Tuesday-Friday 7am-315pm

📈 39 hours per week (20 min paid break per day and 30 minute unpaid lunch, with overtime paid at time and a third after 39 hours

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for Production Operatives to join a well-established pottery manufacturer based in Derby City Centre. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking for long-term work within a supportive, family-focused environment where training and progression opportunities are available.

You'll play an important role in the production process, assisting various departments including clay preparation, glazing, quality control, and production.

Duties Include

Loading and unloading kilns
Loading moulds onto racking systems
Removing excess clay using fettling knives and sponges
Assisting with glazing and finishing products
Inspecting products for quality defects
Using hand tools and abrasive materials to remove imperfections
Moving stock and materials around site
Assisting with cleaning and housekeeping duties
Operating basic machinery and production equipment
Supporting the wider production team as required

Following successful completion of your training period, you will have the opportunity to become involved in more skilled areas including pottery making, decorating, sculpting and other specialist production processes.

Important Information

Site tours will be arranged before starting work.
Overalls must be worn when working with clay.
Some PPE is available on-site while orders are being processed.
This role can be dusty and hands-on, so applicants should be comfortable working with clay and pottery materials.
