About the role

As a Resource Planning Manager within our DDaT Department, you'll play a crucial role in powering the success of our projects, bids, and strategic initiatives across the UK and Europe. This is a high-impact role where you'll lead the optimisation of resource capacity, ensuring our people and infrastructure are aligned with our ambitious goals.

You'll combine strategic insight with data-driven decision-making to drive efficiency and enable effective delivery across the organisation. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll ensure we have the right resources in the right place at the right time - keeping us ready to meet today's demands and tomorrow's opportunities.

 

Key Accountabilities

·       Lead, mentor, and develop Resource Planning Analyst(s), fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and results.

·       Partner with cross-functional teams to anticipate future resource needs using data-driven insights. Identify potential capacity challenges early and develop proactive strategies to ensure resilience and readiness.

·       Create and maintain forward-looking capacity plans that align with evolving business needs and strategic goals. Deliver clear, data-led reporting and dashboards that enable timely, informed decision-making by leadership.

·       Maximise resource efficiency by monitoring deployment across projects, identifying imbalances, and improving productivity. Collaborate with project and product leaders to align the right talent to the right work at the right time, driving value and service excellence.

·       Use analytics to uncover trends and inform smarter planning decisions. Translate complex data into actionable strategies that enhance performance and support continuous improvement.

·       Proactively assess capacity-related risks and develop mitigation strategies that protect delivery timelines and maintain business continuity.

·       Identify and implement enhancements to resource planning processes, increasing accuracy, scalability, and responsiveness to business needs.

·       Collaborate with HR and hiring managers to inform recruitment strategies, highlight resource gaps, and support timely onboarding to meet operational and project demands.

 

Skills & Experience

·       Proven experience in resource and capacity planning within complex or matrixed organisations.

·       Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and deliver actionable insights.

·       Ability to simplify and clearly communicate complex information to a variety of audiences.

·       Confident stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including at senior leadership levels.

·       Proficient in data analysis tools and Microsoft applications, particularly Excel.

·       Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.

·       Demonstrated leadership and a proactive, solution-focused mindset.

·       Experience supporting recruitment planning and collaborating with hiring managers or agencies (desirable).

·       Familiarity with IT infrastructure and technology resource planning (desirable).

·       Understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and governance frameworks (advantageous).
