Location: Keyworth, Nottingham
Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am - 6:00pm
Pay Rate: £14 per hour
Blue Arrow Derby is currently recruiting for a School Caretaker to join a welcoming school in Keyworth, Nottingham. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who is proactive, reliable and takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean and well-presented environment.
Duties will include:
- Carrying out general site maintenance, minor repairs and basic DIY tasks
- Opening and securing the school site each day
- Cleaning classrooms, corridors, dining areas and changing facilities to a high standard
- Maintaining outdoor areas, including litter picking and general upkeep
- Setting up and clearing away furniture for lessons, meetings and events
- Receiving deliveries and monitoring stock levels of site supplies
- Supporting fire safety procedures, including acting as a Fire Warden when required
- Assisting with lunchtime duties and cleaning tasks
- Liaising with contractors and supporting maintenance projects on site
- Completing routine compliance checks and maintaining accurate records
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience as a Caretaker, Site Supervisor, Janitor, Handyperson or in a similar role would be advantageous
- An Enhanced DBS certificate dated within the last 12 months, or willingness to obtain one
- Ability to undertake manual handling tasks, including moving furniture and equipment
- Good communication skills and a positive, flexible approach to work
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Understanding of cleaning procedures and safe use of cleaning products and equipment
