As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be working in Data Enablement we are a key part of DWP Digital's modernisation programme. This area owns data enabling products and is responsible for transformation to bring D&A managed data through new products. You will be working with Teams that are on the forefront of Data Transformation and as such, requires an experienced, self-motivated, and confident Business Analyst.
This role is part of User Centred Design (UCD) within the Strategic Modern Analytical Tooling team (S-MAT).
Their objectives are to introduce, scale and embed UCD practices and approaches as defined in the GDS service manual in DWP Data Enablement.
The team is part of the S-MAT programme, responsible for migrating and transforming the core analytical tools used by Data & Analytics, in particular, SAS and SAS Viya.
Job description
As a Senior BA working within DWP Digital these are some of the things you will:
Work on large, complex products or services, or across a number of products or services simultaneously.
Lead workshops, interviews and focus groups to effectively understand business problems and user needs within large complex products or services.
Communicate effectively across senior technical and business stakeholders, ensuring the understanding of requirements and acceptance criteria is aligned.
Understand the business processes and activities that impact and that are impacted by the product or service whilst developing an understanding of how the product or service aligns with the wider strategy of the department.
Lead initiatives and champion continual learning & development within the BA community.
Be a leading member of the BA community, taking on line management responsibilities. Additionally you will play a significant role in capability building and recruitment when required.
Encourage and promote Agile methodologies, setting standards across the function and working to educate the BA teams working across the functions on Agile principles, methods and tools to support their development.
Some travel to other Digital hubs may be required.
