From defence and space to healthcare, justice, transport and beyond, our UK operations deliver critical services across government sectors—driven by expertise in service design, programme management, engineering, and more.

About the role

As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering complex and high-impact data solutions that support Serco's ambition to become a data-driven organisation. Working closely with BI Analysts, BI Developers, and the wider Data Engineering team, you'll translate functional requirements into robust technical solutions.

You'll lead the design and development of end-to-end data products, including ETLs/ELTs, data warehouses, and data models, while ensuring data security, performance, and scalability. A core part of the role involves optimising service performance and driving adoption and effective business usage across the organisation.

Our primary platforms include Microsoft SQL Azure and Power BI, and you'll also contribute to the ongoing development of our DevOps pipelines.

As a senior member of the team, you'll provide mentorship to other Data Engineers—particularly Associate Data Engineers—by reviewing code, offering training, and sharing your expertise to support their growth.
