Shift EIC Technician
Location: Leyland, PR26 6TB
Salary: £47,146.08 per annum
Hours: Average 37.8 hours per week | 12-hour shifts | 5-shift pattern | 24/7 operation
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Shift EIC Technician to join a busy waste treatment facility in Leyland. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled maintenance professional with expertise in electrical, instrumentation and control systems to play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the site.
Working as part of the engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining plant assets and associated infrastructure, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance activities, supporting operational teams, and ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance across electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
- Respond to equipment failures and process faults to minimise downtime.
- Monitor, record and adjust plant systems in line with operational requirements.
- Support the operation of site control systems, including SCADA.
- Assist with basic control room and weekend weighbridge duties when required.
- Coordinate contractor activities and ensure work is completed safely and effectively.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and shift handovers using company systems.
- Administer safe systems of work, including Permit to Work (PTW) and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
- Adhere to all health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Essential
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship.
- ONC/HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong maintenance experience within industrial, manufacturing, chemical, FMCG or process plant environments.
- Knowledge of preventative, predictive and lifecycle maintenance practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
- Good IT skills and experience using CMMS systems.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
Desirable
- Experience with SCADA systems.
- Experience within waste processing or similar industrial environments.
- Training or certification in FLT, MEWP, Confined Space, or Working at Height.
- Knowledge of odour abatement and process systems.
