Stores Operative

Location: Perth (Driving Licence is essential due to the nature of the job)

Pay Rate: £15.16 per hour

Contract: 4‑month temporary cover (potential to extend)

Working Hours: 35 Hours Per week Monday - Friday. Overtime available

A great opportunity has arisen for a reliable and organised Stores Operative to join a busy procurement and stores team within a secure establishment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, takes pride in accuracy, and can thrive in a structured environment.

About the Role

You will play a key part in ensuring the smooth flow of goods throughout the site - from receiving deliveries to distributing stock, managing returns, and maintaining accurate records. Working within a secure facility, you will support a range of departments and contribute to essential daily operations.

Job Duties

• Receiving, checking and accurately recording all incoming deliveries
• Reporting shortages, damages and arranging returns to suppliers
• Distributing goods to departments and ensuring items are signed for
• Maintaining a tidy yard and arranging recycling uplifts
• Handling weekly canteen deliveries and reporting discrepancies
• Managing warehouse stock, including PPE and staff uniform
• Checking and delivering sundry purchases and reporting issues
• Collecting and disposing of waste via correct waste streams
• Completing monthly stock takes
• Providing forklift support (training desirable but not essential)
• Loading/unloading vehicles manually or using mechanical equipment
• Escorting contractors within security guidelines
• Supporting other finance‑related functions when required
• Carrying out filing and archiving tasks

What We are Looking For

• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• Ability to maintain accurate manual and electronic records
• Physically fit as heavy lifting is involved
• Strong spoken and written English skills
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment
• Manual Handling Training (provided)
• Forklift experience (desirable but not essential)
