Salary: £35,137.00 per annum + excellent benefits
Full Time: 37 hours per week fixed term contract
Working hours: Shifts to cover a 7 day operation.

As a Household Recycling Centre Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Sandwell Civic Amenities Site, ensuring full compliance with all relevant regulations. You will also play a key role in, maintaining high service standards, and promoting waste separation to maximise recycling.
You will be reporting to the Transfer Station Operations Manager
You'll be entrusted to:
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Self-motivated
· Willingness to undertake further training
· Able to follow written and verbal instruction and work on own initiative
· To carry out the day-to-day supervision of staff, ensure service delivery and accurate reporting of waste data.
· To understand Serco Contractual requirements for the site.
· To identify and understand key performance indicators and ensure that these are met.
· Accurately record waste tonnages.
· Weekly operational reporting into the Management Team.
· To regularly liaise with all staff members to identify, progress on works and any matters which arise affecting the service delivery. (Transport Manager, site staff, Operations Manager)
· Manage staff cover working rota's, signing off timesheets and manage overtime requirements
· Manage and report - holidays, sickness absence
· Lead and motivate the team, forward suggestions and ideas for improvements in service provision improving recycling rates.
· Responsible for the standards, cleanliness and maintenance of the site, machinery, vehicles, plant, equipment and the office building.
· Ensure the correct waste is dispatched to the correct facility.
· Understand and maintain the Business Continuity Plan
· To ensure that all Health and Safety requirements and processes are followed and are met.
· To ensure the Code of Conduct is always adhered to and the appropriate working SMS procedures are followed.
· To undergo training to improve skill levels and knowledge
· Deliver and record appropriate staff training
· Conduct staff appraisals - 6-month review schedule
· To maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly members of the public.
· To always maintain a presentable appearance.
· Maybe required to work at other Serco sites

You'll be a great fit for this role if you are...
· Must have previous proven supervisor experience
· IT skills must be able to carry out basic excel and word and email functions
· Waste management experience would be an advantage
· Experience in operating plant/machinery desirable and must be willing to undertake training for all plant operations
Qualifications
· Supervisory/Management qualifications desirable
· COTC preferable or must be willing to carry out the training to become COTC qualified
