Are you an experienced workshop leader with a passion for technology, process excellence, and developing high-performing teams? We're looking for a Technical & Production Manager to oversee the daily operations of our busy service centre, specialising in the repair and refurbishment of payment terminals, barcode scanners, mobile devices, communication devices, POS systems, laptops, and associated tech.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where you'll combine strong technical understanding with operational leadership, workflow management, and a continuous-improvement mindset. You'll ensure our technicians deliver outstanding quality, rapid turnaround times, and exceptional customer satisfaction - every time.
What You'll Be Doing
🔧 Workshop & Technical Management
- Oversee all day-to-day workshop operations and ensure timely, high-quality device repairs.
- Plan and manage repair & refurbishment workflows, resources, and parts logistics to meet SLAs and reduce turnaround times.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis on complex technical issues.
- Implement and optimise best practices for diagnostics, repairs, testing, and quality control.
- Manage technical stock and ensure accurate system records.
- Ensure full adherence to technical standards, processes, and compliance requirements.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
🖥️ Data & Systems Management
- Maintain accurate data entry and processing across systems including Tesseract, SMART, and Odoo.
- Monitor data quality for work orders, inventory, repair logs, and client records.
- Use data insights to identify trends, improve performance, and support planning.
👥 Team Leadership & HR Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and develop a team of technicians, setting a positive and accountable culture.
- Manage performance, conduct appraisals, address disciplinaries, and support ongoing staff development.
- Oversee technician onboarding and ensure training aligns with evolving technical requirements.
- Champion health & safety best practices throughout the workshop.
🤝 Customer Liaison & Planning
- Act as the primary contact for internal customers regarding technical queries and scheduling.
- Provide technical advice, manage expectations, and ensure smooth communication between teams.
- Collaborate with planning and operations teams across Codeo and Unicomp to balance capacity and demand.
- Escalate and resolve service issues professionally and efficiently.
What We're Looking For
- Experience managing a technical workshop, repair centre, or production environment.
- Strong technical understanding across device diagnostics, repair processes, and quality control.
- Confident working with systems such as Tesseract, SMART, Odoo, or similar platforms.
- Proven leadership experience - coaching teams, managing performance, and driving results.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload under pressure.
