Technology Support Technician
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary, End Date: 30th October
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide IT support via telephone, email, instant messaging, remote support tools, and face-to-face.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.
- Install, configure, maintain, and remove IT hardware and software.
- Escalate complex issues to senior support teams where required.
- Record and update support requests accurately.
- Ensure IT and audio-visual equipment remains operational and available for users.
- Carry out routine testing, diagnostics, and fault-finding activities.
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain high levels of user satisfaction.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to resolve technical issues efficiently.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in an IT support, service desk, or technical support environment.
- Good knowledge of desktop hardware, software applications, operating systems, and network connectivity.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
- Experience delivering excellent customer service in a professional environment.
Qualifications
- Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) and/or relevant professional experience.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and maintain technical knowledge.
