Warehouse Operatives Required in Southampton (Late Shift)
Site Location: Unit 6 Mount Park, Southampton, SO18
Pay Rate: £14.36ph (PAYE)
Contract - Temp to Perm for the right candidate
Working Hours
Late Shift Pattern
- Monday to Thursday: 18:00 start
- Friday: 16:00 start
This is a job and finish operation, therefore finish times will vary according to customer demand and order volumes.
Job Purpose
To support the warehouse picking operation by accurately selecting and preparing customer orders while maintaining high standards of productivity, accuracy, and Health & Safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and assemble customer orders within a busy warehouse environment.
- Operate Low-Level Order Pickers (LLOPs) safely and effectively following training.
- Handle a wide variety of stock including bottles, cases, and kegs.
- Carry out regular manual handling activities in line with safe working practices.
- Maintain productivity targets while ensuring order accuracy.
- Adhere to Health & Safety policies and warehouse procedures at all times.
- Participate in Keg Picking duties, involving the handling of heavier products.
- Contribute positively to team performance and operational efficiency.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Reliable and committed with a strong work ethic.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Capable of undertaking frequent manual handling activities.
- Commitment to working permanent late shift hours.
- Reliable transport arrangements due to limited public transport access.
Desirable
- Previous warehouse, order picking, or logistics experience.
- Experience operating Low-Level Order Pickers (LLOPs).
- B1 or D2 licences for Counterbalance and Reach Truck operation.
- Previous Material Handling Equipment (MHE) certification or relevant operating experience.
Training
- Full training provided for Low-Level Order Picker (LLOP) operation.
- On-site MHE training available.
- Training provided in Keg Picking and associated handling procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift, move, and handle products including bottles, cases, and kegs.
- Physically fit to perform manual handling tasks throughout the shift.
- No health conditions that would be adversely affected by repetitive lifting or physically demanding activities.
