Job Title: Assistant Bar Manager

Hours: 16:00 to 22:00 or 17:00 to 23:00
Overview
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Assistant Bar Manager to support the daily operations of our bar. In this role, you will work closely with the Bar Manager to ensure exceptional customer service, a well-run bar team, and a welcoming atmosphere for guests. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong hospitality experience who is ready to take the next step in bar management.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Support the Bar Manager in running day-to-day bar operations.
- Oversee bar opening and closing procedures, ensuring all standards are met.
- Maintain stock levels through effective ordering, rotation, and inventory management.
- Ensure the bar is clean, safe, and compliant with licensing, health, and safety regulations.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and motivate bar staff to deliver outstanding service.
- Assist with staff scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Lead by example, promoting a positive work environment and strong teamwork culture.
Customer Experience
- Maintain excellent customer service standards at all times.
- Resolve customer queries, feedback, and complaints professionally.
- Support the delivery of promotions, events, and seasonal offerings.
Financial & Administrative Duties
- Assist with cash handling, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Monitor wastage, profitability, and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to budgeting, cost control, and revenue targets.
Quality & Brand Standards
- Ensure consistency in drink preparation and presentation.
- Uphold brand standards across the bar's service delivery.
- Collaborate on menu development, including cocktails and specials.
Skills & Experience Essential
- Previous experience in a bar or hospitality supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of bar operations, stock control, and customer service.
Desirable
- Personal Licence Holder (or willingness to gain one).
- Experience with rota management and staff training.
- Knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, and bar trends.
