About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Assistant Catering Manager to join a prestigious corporate catering operation in Cardiff.

Working closely with the Catering Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of a busy hospitality and catering service. You will help oversee corporate hospitality functions while supporting the delivery of high-quality food and service within the cafeteria operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop their career within contract catering, hospitality, or food service management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Catering Manager in the daily running of the catering operation.
  • Assist in the delivery of corporate hospitality and event catering services.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental Health, Food Safety, and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Support the management and development of catering staff.
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and operational administration.
  • Help create a positive customer experience across all service areas.

Working Pattern

  • Temp-to-permanent opportunity, initially employed through the agency before transferring to a permanent contract with the client.
  • Predominantly Monday to Friday.
  • No split shifts.
  • Full-time position.
  • Full time Start date September - Availability from August needed

Skills & Experience Required

  • NVQ Level 2 (706/2) or equivalent qualification, or experience within a similar catering or hospitality environment.
  • Previous experience within contract catering, hospitality, or a hotel setting.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to work.
  • Understanding of:
    • Food Hygiene regulations
    • Health & Safety at Work
    • COSHH
    • HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)
