Bank Engineer | Bank work | Competitive Salary | Flexible working | Hull
Spire Hull and East Riding have a great opportunity for a Maintenace engineer to join the busy estates team on a bank basis covering annual leave and sickness as a bank engineer you will conduct a variety of general maintenance services within the hospital and grounds.
Overall Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and updating of the Hospital's policies and manuals for the planned preventative maintenance of equipment.
* Responsible for regular inspections of the Hospital's equipment, structure, internal decorations etc; prepares reports on defects; documents routine performance data, e.g. boiler flow temperatures etc.
* Responsible for maintenance of estate, i.e. to ensure the grounds and buildings and services are in a in good state of repair.
* Report defects and agree courses of action in respect of repairs with senior members of the Engineering Department.
* Carry out small building works e.g. internal re-decorations, small structural alterations, repairs, plumbing, electrical works, etc., using outside contractors as appropriate.
* Responsible for routine testing, maintenance and functioning of the fire alarm system, fire-fighting equipment, fire and escape doors, etc. .
* Responsible for water hygiene in respect of legionella and bacteria prevention.
* Oversee all contractors whilst working on hospital site.
* Acknowledge the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) and understand own responsibility as agreed with line manager in the prevention and control of HCAI.
* To ensure on-going training as appropriate for role and to keep abreast of changing legislation requirements. To attend mandatory training sessions.
* To comply with obligations in respect of Health & Safety at Work legislation, Fire procedures, ensuring compliance within the department.
* To supervise the day-to-day engineering duties.
* Undertake work activities and related training as defined in Spire Healthcare Health and Safety policies and procedures for self and team.
* Assist in maintaining a safe working environment for self, colleagues, patients and others.
* Summons immediate help for any emergency and take appropriate action to contain it.
* Report any issues in the workplace that may put health and safety at risk, supporting others in maintaining health, safety and security.
* Assist in maintaining a safe work environment by the correct disposal of waste and spillage.
Qualifications and Trainin g
Plumbing experience is needed for this role as well as Served a recognised apprenticeship in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering with C&G Qualification in Electrical or Mechanical field
