Spire Hull and East riding are currently looking for a Handy person to work on a Bank basis as part of the Engineering & Estates team to provide a comprehensive and cost-effective service within the hospital.
To assist the Engineering & Estates team with general handyman type tasks when required as directed by the Engineering Manager.
Overall Responsibilities
* To assist the Engineering & Estates team with general handyman type tasks when required as directed by the Engineering Manager.
* Undertake work activities and related training as defined in Spire Healthcare health and safety policies and procedures.
* Responsible for maintenance of estate, i.e. to ensure the grounds and buildings and services are in a in good state of repair.
* Work with the engineering team to support hospital wide functions.
* Carry out small building works e.g. internal re-decorations, small structural alterations, repairs, plumbing, electrical works, etc., using outside contractors as appropriate.
* Enthusiastic and self-motivated.
* Experience painter and decorator or good DIY skills.
* Assist in maintaining a safe working environment for self, colleagues, patients and others.
* Summons immediate help for any emergency and take appropriate action to contain it.
* Report any issues in the workplace that may put health and safety at risk, supporting others in maintaining health, safety and security.
* Assist in maintaining a safe work environment by the correct disposal of waste and spillage.
