Spire South Bank Hospital have an opportunity for an experienced Specialist Hand Therapist to join our wonderful team. This is a flexible working position for the individual to provide highly skilled and specialised assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients within the in-patient/out-patient service.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • To take the lead role in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal/ Hand and Wrist patients.
  • Provide specialist education and teaching.
  • To contribute towards departmental research and audit in this clinical area.
  • To ensure the teams deliver effective care to clients, presenting with musculoskeletal injuries by providing excellent clinical and organisational leadership.
  • To act as a Specialist Hand Therapist resource for the multi-disciplinary team within Spire Healthcare.
  • To promote and assist in marketing of service developments to GP's, Consultants and external agencies.
  • To undertake evidence based projects, including recommendations for changes in practice.

Who we're looking for:

  • Degree (BSc Hons Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapist) or equivalent
  • Post-Graduate learning in musculoskeletal programme
  • Post graduate experience in Hand Therapy
  • Experience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied caseloads
  • Experience of working in partnership with consultants and participating in creating innovative solutions for new services
  • Competence across a range of Hand Therapy, management and leadership skills supported by highly skilled professional and specialist knowledge in the field of MSK
