Catering Assistant - School Kitchen (Temporary)

Location: Haywards Heath
Contract Type: Temporary (Term-Time Only)
Working Hours: Weekdays, typically 08:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience)

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join a friendly school kitchen team in Haywards Heath. This is a temporary position with the potential for extension, offering a great opportunity to work in a supportive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and serving meals to students and staff
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas
• Perform general kitchen duties including washing up
• Support stock rotation and manage deliveries

Requirements

• Enhanced DBS certificate (must be current and valid)
• Previous experience in a catering or kitchen assistant role (preferred)
• Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety procedures
