DBS Requirements

Some of our clients, particularly within education and care settings, require staff to hold a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate covering Child Workforce, Adult Workforce, or both. This must either be registered on the DBS Update Service or have been issued within the last 12 months.

Candidates who do not currently hold a DBS certificate must be willing to undergo the necessary checks through Blue Arrow. Please note that charges apply for new DBS applications.

The Role

As a Catering Assistant, you will play an important part in ensuring efficient food service by:

• Assisting with the preparation and presentation of food
• Serving meals and beverages in a professional manner
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout kitchen and dining areas
• Following food safety, allergen awareness, and hygiene regulations
• Supporting chefs and catering teams during busy service periods
• Operating dishwashing equipment and cleaning kitchen utensils
• Replenishing stock and helping keep storage areas organised

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience within catering, hospitality, food production, or customer service roles
• Understanding of food hygiene and safe working practices
• Food Hygiene Certificate preferred but not essential
• Friendly and professional attitude
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong team-working and communication skills
• Reliable and adaptable approach to work
• Own transport is beneficial for accessing multiple sites
