Pay Rate: £12.71 - £13.00 per hour, dependent on experience, client placement, shift patterns and work environment

DBS Requirements

A number of placements, particularly within education, childcare and care settings, require an Enhanced DBS Certificate covering children, adults, or both. Certificates should be registered with the DBS Update Service or be less than 12 months old.

If you do not currently hold a valid DBS, Blue Arrow can arrange the relevant checks on your behalf. Please note that a fee applies for new applications.

Main Duties

As a Catering Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of catering services by:

• Assisting with food preparation and kitchen tasks
• Serving meals, drinks and refreshments
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout kitchen and dining areas
• Adhering to food safety, allergen and health & safety regulations
• Supporting kitchen teams during busy service periods
• Cleaning utensils, crockery and catering equipment
• Assisting with stock replenishment and storage organisation

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience within catering, hospitality, food service or customer-facing roles
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safe working practices
• A Food Hygiene Certificate (beneficial but not mandatory)
• A positive and enthusiastic approach
• Good communication and teamworking abilities
• Reliability and flexibility
• The ability to work effectively in a busy environment
• Access to transport, which would be advantageous for travelling between assignments
