DBS Requirements

Some roles, particularly within schools, nurseries and care settings, require a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate for the Child Workforce, Adult Workforce, or both. Certificates should either be registered with the DBS Update Service or issued within the last 12 months.

Candidates who do not currently hold a DBS certificate must be willing to complete the relevant checks through Blue Arrow. Please note that new DBS applications are subject to a fee.

Key Responsibilities

As a Catering Assistant, your duties are likely to include:

• Supporting the preparation of food and beverages
• Serving customers, residents, pupils or visitors
• Ensuring kitchen and dining areas remain clean and presentable
• Following food hygiene, allergen awareness and health & safety standards
• Assisting chefs and kitchen staff during busy services
• Washing dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment
• Replenishing stock and maintaining organised storage areas

What We're Looking For

Successful candidates will ideally have:

• Previous experience within catering, hospitality, food production or customer service roles
• Awareness of food hygiene and safe working procedures
• A Food Hygiene Certificate (preferred but not essential)
• A positive and professional attitude
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• Reliability and a flexible approach to work
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Access to own transport, which is advantageous for travelling to different assignments
